Mindfulness, Healing, and the “Full Catastrophe” of Everyday Life
Spend an evening with Jon Kabat-Zinn exploring how to find refuge and leverage within the practice of mindfulness. It’s an evening of reflection on the practical lessons Dr. Kabat-Zinn has learned from bringing mindfulness into the mainstream of medicine, psychology, and society. Drawing on his experience over the past 30 years, Dr. Kabat-Zinn will share what he has found to be the uniquely beneficial effect of mindfulness, not only in the health professions but in our individual lives. The primary focus of the evening is to explore the heart of mindfulness as a practice and its relationship, as documented by scientific studies, to physical and emotional healing. Learn to face what Zorba the Greek called the full catastrophe of the human condition and to do so effectively, with self-compassion, kindness, and wisdom.
This evening talk is a fundraising event on behalf of Inquiring Mind.
