SueAnne Piliero, Clinical Psychologist

SueAnne Piliero, Ph.D. is a senior faculty and a founding member of the AEDP Institute (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy).  She teaches Fierce Love to a broad range of clinical audiences across the US and around the world. Clinicians are drawn to Fierce Love because of its self-evident power and efficacy to heal even the most hardened and traumatized of patients, which is consistently demonstrated in her powerful, clinical videotapes.


Dr. Piliero has taught previously at the Cape Cod Institute and the Psychotherapy Networker Symposium, and her clinical work was chosen to be featured by the American Psychological Association (APA) as part of their video series featuring renowned psychotherapists doing live demonstrations with real patients.  Most recently she wrote a chapter in the book “Undoing Aloneness & the Transformation of Suffering into Flourishing AEDP 2.0” for the APA titled, “Fierce Love: Championing the Core Self to Transform Trauma and Pathogenic States(Piliero, 2021)”

She is known for her warm, open, engaging teaching style and her ability to communicate complex topics with humor and clarity. Dr. Piliero received her doctorate from Adelphi University and her master’s degree in human development and psychology from Harvard. She teaches, supervises, provides individual and group consultation and is in private practice in New York City.
