An Overview of Psilocybin Research at Johns Hopkins:: History, Current State, Future

This evening two leading investigators in the field offer an overview of contemporary psilocybin research studies at Johns Hopkins, including findings on psilocybin for distress in cancer patients, for helping people quit smoking, and in treating depression, as well as spiritual and wellbeing benefits in healthy volunteers. The role and effects of psychedelic-occasioned mystical experiences will also be discussed, along with a consideration of the broader history of the field, and its potential future impacts on mental healthcare and culture at large.
