Course Information

Module II - Attachment, Childhood Developmental Trauma, and Early Feeding

The experiential training/workshop is a hands-on format working with the body and it’s physiological reactions and responses to shift and change the body’s nervous system to balance and healing. The shifts when working the with body’s nervous system, helps restore change that balances mental, physical, and social interaction states. This bottom up therapy (working with the body’s wisdom) through healing the tissue is helpful for treatment of trauma, attachment disorders, neurological disorders, eating disorders, sensory disorders, anxiety, and depression.

Kim DiRe', LPC, MEd, SEP, DBH

Dr. Kim DiRé, LPC, MEd, SEP, DBH is passionate about helping people. Her background in education gives awareness to people’s needs and experience teaching those needs in skills sets. Trauma, eating issues, eating disorders, relationships, and effective communication are her specialties. Dr. Kim has an integrated training approach.

She uses her experience from teaching, lecturing, therapy, and writing to honor each individual or group to complete specific goals for each client’s benefit and future.

Kim has her Master’s in Counseling from Argosy University/Phoenix and a Master’s in Education from Chapman University. She is also a certified Hypnotherapist graduating from the Atwood Institute for Research and Education. Her training, individual therapy sessions, and facilitating groups using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Hypnotherapy and Somatic®Experiencing for trauma healing are useful when working with clients.

Course Objectives:

  • Practice the basic tools for touch work skills.
  • Demonstrate how to shut of the adrenal flow in the body through touch work.
  • Describe how to work with the body and physiology to help regulate and restore more balance in a person’s body.

Saturday trainings -

9:00am – 10:30am - Introduction Touch Training and weekend agenda

10:30am – 12:00noon - Skill work

12:00 noon – 1:30pm – Lunch break

1:30pm – 4:30pm - Continued Skill work

 

Sunday trainings -

9:00am – 10:30am - Demo and training/work

10:30am – 12:00noon - Continued Experiential on skill demonstrated with practice

12:00noon – 1:30pm – Lunch break

1:30 – 3:00pm - Demo

3:00pm – 4:30pm - Continued Experiential and closing
