Presenters

Deborah Kennard, MS, LL Psychologist

With more than 20 years of clinical practice, Deborah Kennard developed Personal Transformation Institute. In 2008 she went through extensive EMDR Trainer Training with Dr. Francine Shapiro. In addition to over 2 decades of EMDR experience, she is also certified in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. This combination brings you the most powerful EMDR basic training as well as a full range of advanced training opportunities.

Deb is passionate about EMDR training and includes the most comprehensive post-training support. During the training Deb uses the social engagement model to keep participants engaged and open to learning. She has a talent for taking complex ideas and making them practical enough to apply to clients.

Deb’s background also includes yoga and insight meditation. She brings all she has to the EMDR trainings, including a passion for fun!

Alice Stricklin, MPH, LMFT

Alice began her career over 10 years ago in the study of Marriage and Family Therapy. Her focus in training has centered around working with children, teens, and adults who have experienced trauma. Through her journey, Alice acquired training in EMDR Therapy.

Early on, she saw significant results with clients where people were finally able to heal from past hurts and grow past their past and begin forming new and healthier connections. Because of their success and testimony, Alice decided to deepen her understanding and use of EMDR therapy by becoming certified and later training to become a consultant through EMDRIA for other clinicians interested in becoming trained in EMDR Therapy. Alice is passionate about the helping people heal from the blocks of trauma as quickly and naturally as possible so they can move on with their lives. She is just as passionate about teaching other clinicians how to do this well. She continues to seek her own growth then offers new wisdoms to others.

Alice continues to work with clients of all ages, specifically those who have been pained by sexual abuse, neglect, childhood abuse, sexual assaults, and spiritual abuse. She has found ways to incorporate the model of EMDR with most any client who seeks her help.

Susan Wendelborg, LCSW

Susan Wendelborg, LCSW adds a depth of experience and knowledge in somatic and attachment theory as well as a depth of humor to PTI. Susan studied Social Work in both undergraduate and graduate school having been drawn to the field by a passion for social justice. (Which was baffling to her family of origin. Then again, she always told them they shouldn’t have taken her to church if they didn’t want her to end up like that.)

She has over 20 years’ experience working in a variety of mental health settings and with a broad population of clients. Susan was trained in EMDR 2011 and continued her learning to become a Certified EMDR Therapist in 2013. She began working with PTI in 2016 to become an Approved Consultant and EMDR Trainer. (And to personally transform despite her best efforts to the contrary.) In 2017, Susan established and assumed the role of Regional Coordinator for the Western Oregon EMDRIA Regional Network.

Susan has completed Level 1 training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and will begin Level 2 training in 2018. She recently established Oregon EMDR, LLC and is cultivating this as a clinic specializing in EMDR and Somatic therapies to treat trauma and foster the development of other clinicians. (Wish her luck.)

Susan is grateful for (her husband and dogs and) the opportunity to enjoy meaningful work and evolve as a therapist with clients, and a teacher and consultant with other clinicians.

Susanne Goldstein, LPC

Susanne is a Licensed Professional Counselor, in the state of Arizona. Over the last 20 years, her passion for assisting people heal and develop authentic connections with “Self” led her to work with adolescents, young adults, and families. Susanne’s professional counseling background is in developmental and complex trauma, family systems, attachment and cognitive behavioral theoretical perspectives. She has clinical expertise in trauma-informed care and the root of her philosophy is that all persons deserve an opportunity to heal.

Susanne is excited to be a part of the Personal Transformation Institute Team and is a S.A.F.E. EMDR therapist. Her journey in becoming a Certified EMDR therapist and an Approved Consultant deepened her passion to teach other therapists the S.A.F.E. EMDR model. Susanne has a holistic and experiential approach that incorporates mind/body treatment and takes into consideration how life long experiences affect how we show up in the present. Guiding clients to look at what gets in our way of living a life of authenticity and freedom. Life should be about freedom, possibilities and always hope. Susanne believes in treating the root, healing the brain/body so that you can live in truth and acceptance of you. Healing is about recovering your true self.

ASWB explanation for clients no longer receiving ASWB CE language beginning 6.1.19:

ASWB explanation for clients no longer receiving ASWB CE language beginning 6.1.19:

The Association of Social Work Board (ASWB) has changed their rules effective June 1st, 2019. The ASWB no longer allows any of their ACE Providers (R. Cassidy Seminars and others) to have blanket approval rights for live courses with their co-sponsors (you – our customer). The ASWB pulled this privilege from their ACE Providers for all co-sponsored home studies back on March 30th, 2018. We discovered that most state social work licensing boards will accept approvals from APA or another state’s social work board. We have been using this with home studies for over a year now without any complaints.

Your new CE Language is attached. The new approval language including includes APA and New York and Ohio Social Workers as well as the approval for Florida Social Workers through CE Broker and the Florida Social Work Board. We have approvals on it with APA and for NY and OH-SWs, and also have approval for Florida SWs through CE Broker and the Florida Social Work Board.

If your attendees have any questions, please have them contact their board for a ruling or you may contact us and we will research the rules and regulations (please provide the state and license type).
