CE Only for Adult Attachment in Romantic Relationships

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

Interpersonal relationships are the ultimate source of happiness or misery. What are the factors that determine whether partners will end up experiencing love and fulfillment in their relationships or suffering pain and distress? This workshop helps answer this question by providing participants with a theoretical model that integrates attachment theory, interpersonal neurobiology and separation theory in a manner that can provide a road map for developing and maintaining intimacy. Workshop participants will learn how to help themselves and others challenge defensive behaviors, remnants of their attachment patterns that interfere with closeness and intimacy. Elements of emotion-focused therapy, addressing adult attachment issues will be integrated into the workshop as will be an innovative cognitive/affective/behavioral therapy method. This workshop will be valuable for anyone who is interested in having better relationships, whether that means choosing better partners or working to create a better relationship with their current partner. It will be particularly valuable to those who work in the mental health field by providing them with valuable techniques that they can incorporate into their practice.
