'Integrating Approaches' Objectives |
| The goal of this conference, 'It Takes a Village: Integrating Approaches in the Treatment of Eating Disorders,' is twofold: (1) We wish to welcome families and individuals struggling in recovery from eating disorders to network with professionals, so that we can best learn from one another;
(2) We wish to welcome a range of providers, across many specialties and levels of care, so as to maximize successful detection, diagnosis, and treatment of the full spectrum of eating disorders. Welcome.
|
| | Participants will learn |
| 1.) To identify specific diagnostic and treatment approaches, counseling skills and modalities that will be successfully applied to the fields of medicine, mental health, nutrition, behavioral health and addictive disorders, in the treatment of eating disorders, including but not limited to recognizing and diagnosing anorexia nervosa, bulimia, binge eating disorder, compulsive overeating, with relationship, as well, to family systems, dual diagnosis, and related psychological and psychiatric disorders.
2.) To identify the symptoms and characteristics of the disorders mentioned in #1, and to participate in skill-building workshops that offer clinical, cognitive and experiential techniques, to assist in patient/client recovery from these listed disorders.
3.) To identify the treatment modalities and levels of care available to treat eating disorders, to make decisions about the level of care needed for recovery, and to best collaborate amongst treatment modalities, treatment providers, and levels of care for enduring recovery.
