COURSE DESCRIPTION

In this course, internationally acclaimed author and psychotherapist Daniel Siegel will offer an experience into the nature of psychological change. By drawing on his earlier writings on interpersonal neurobiology The Developing Mind, parenting and attachment Parenting from the Inside Out, and psychotherapy Healing Trauma, this course offers the opportunity to dive deeply into the fundamental question of how people change - in psychotherapy and other healing relationships.

Why is intersubjective joining thought to be so essential to well-being?

How does such meeting of minds bring about lasting changes in the connections within the brain?

How do attachment experiences and self-understanding promote emotional well-being?

By examining these issues, the course will encourage more than just acquisition of new knowledge: participants will have the chance to become immersed in cutting-edge explorations of how human development occurs throughout the lifespan and how this process can be harnessed to promote a sense of vitality, internal coherence, and interpersonal connections. A new way of thinking about psychological growth and a new approach to facilitating development can emerge from this exciting new perspective on our human experience.
