This two-day conference offered an exciting opportunity to explore the scientific foundations of interpersonal relationships and the underpinnings of psychotherapeutic interventions for individuals, couples and families.

Dan Siegel, MD, John Gottman, PhD and Marco Iacoboni, PhD

This exciting conference marks the first time these presenters have joined together to examine human interconnectedness from diverse perspectives in psychology and neuroscience. Dr. Gottman reviews recent research in the field of couple and parent-child therapy, offering empirically-validated interventions that facilitate emotional connection in these relationships. Dr. Siegel presents an integrative approach that incorporates research in attachment and interpersonal neurobiology, and demonstrates how understanding the brain can promote healing in relationships. Dr. Marco Iacoboni, whose ground-breaking research has shed light on the human mirror neuron system, explains the neural processes that underlie emotional resonance. In this course, you’ll discover how the mirror neuron system furthers our understanding of more complex intersubjective processes, like empathy, and learn how these findings may be applied to clinical work.
