This webinar explores the application of implementation science principles to decisions about staging and scaling implementation of new programs and practices.

Many title IV-E waiver initiatives use a staged implementation approach, starting in one region of the State before expanding to others and becoming statewide. States must make complex decisions, including site selection, the setting of criteria for moving from the initial site to subsequent sites, and the modification of the intervention as it is scaled up. Effectively moving from staged implementation to a statewide implementation is a prerequisite to sustainability that has not received sufficient attention.

The webinar highlights research that examines the elements needed to scale effectively. Various States provide insights from their experiences with their staged implementation approaches.
